The cool thing about this space is that we can shoot using natural light or studio lights.

Of course as with any renovation project the size of the job seemed to grow every day. A simple paint job turned into having to completely re-sheet and plaster the entire downstairs area! Ideas of doing the renovations ourselves quickly evaporated and we ended up with a crew of 5 plasterers and painters working for a week solid.

On top of that we had to re-do just about all the electrics and the floors.

Anyway, we are getting there. The main areas are finished and the upstairs area is almost ready.

So I am swapping the sander and paintbrush for the keyboard again and promise to post more of our recent wedding and other work.

Instead of the traditional bridal walz, Rachel and Ryan sang to each other.

Still they never for a moment let it get them down, instead they smiled through it and enjoyed every minute of it.

Dad keeps an eye on the time.

and of course they planned an outdoor wedding ceremony at Bradley's Head, Mosman. While Ant is waiting for a break in the weather Mel is doing circles in the car, waiting for word wether the ceremony will be outdoors or moved to the reception venue.

Fortunately the break in the weather allows the ceremony to go ahead.

Mel really wanted some photos on the beach and she came prepared.

The weather is getting nasty again so we head for Gunners Barracks.

In the meantime Kathleen and her family got ready at home.

The ceremony was held at St Lazarus Serbian Orthodox Church in Redfern. The church has a great atmosphere and all the reflected light is red and golden.

After the church we headed back to Miro's family home were Kathleen had to complete a couple of Serbian traditions such as throwing an apple over the house and lifting a baby. I guess we'll find out soon enough it works :-)

The Reception was at Angelo's on the Bay, a great restaurant with great food.

The details

The morning started early at Miro's house. All the family friends gathered here and everyone who entered had to take a swig of Miro's family homebrew. Not surprising there was a lot of dancing and singing.

This is a pretty funky location and perfect for something grungy and different.

Milton Park with it's beautiful garden settings is the perfect place for an outdoor wedding.

I think the whole of the South African Jewish Community was present at the wedding, and everyone contributed to the weddings' fantastic atmosphere.

The reception was set up in a marquee which had been erected over the tennis courts. The band Soul Farm from New York played some awesome hora music. The dancing was and the atmosphere was amazing. Here are 2 album spreads from the reception.

After midnight the party moved to a nearby barn.
