On the first day Steve talked about shooting for a wedding. I couldn't help myself from capturing some images from a few different angles.

It was only a couple of weeks before their wedding that we run into Georgie and Doug at Deb and Jonathan's wedding. Obviously they compared notes when planning their weddings and hence everything was just perfect.

We started by documenting Georgie and Doug getting ready before heading to the historic Garrison Church in The Rocks. For the location photos it made sense to head to nearby Observatory Hill. In winter the daylight fades quickly and Observatory Hill just manages to catch the last daylight in Sydney.

After the location photos we headed over to Observatory Hotel where Georgie and Doug were staying. Everyone chilled out for a bit over drinks and we managed to get a few more nice images in the Hotel.

For the reception we headed over to The Wharf Restaurant. Both Georgie and Doug's families came to Sydney from the country so here they got to enjoy some of the best views of the harbour.

We photographed Deb's sisters wedding a couple of years ago, so we were pretty excited to photograph the family again and catch up. It's awesome to see a a former bride and groom chasing after their kid now.

This wedding was all about family and the bridal party was made up of their brothers and sisters.

Deb and Jonathan got married at the Barker College chapel which is fitting since they both met while attending Barker College. Being winter we didn't have a lot of time for location photos but we managed to find a spot by the water facing east where we could catch the last rays of sun.

And once the sun went down we just made our own light to create some funky low light images.

We finished up with the reception at Catalina in Rose bay. One thing I noticed all day were the flowers everywhere, the corsages, bouquets, in the church and all over the reception. The flowers were provided and styled by Susan Avery who did an amazing job.

On the way to the reception venue we stopped in Rose Bay for a couple more photos along the esplanade.

Their decision to get married in Bowral was not entirely motivated by the thought of cuddling up in front of roaring log fires but it also had a practical reason. Lincoln's brother, Stirling Mortlock is the captain of the Brumbies and was due to play a match in Canberra the day before. Having the wedding in Bowral was to allow Stirling to make it to the wedding. Unfortunately even the best laid plans sometimes don't work out; instead Stirling spent the time in a Sydney Hospital undergoing surgery for a back injury. It was a real shame for the family as this was a real family affair and Stirling was missed.

The location was beautiful, both Stefanie and Lincoln got ready at cottages at Milton Park that were just full of character. The ceremony was a short drive to the church in Bowral.

Once the ceremony and family photos were completed we quickly headed back to Milton Park for some location photos. Being winter the sun sets pretty early but we managed to catch the last rays of sun before it disappeared.

The setting sun provided us with some amazing light. We got some great photos and we had an amazing time.

Once the sun went down it got cold very quickly so we headed indoors for a couple of more photos while the guests were being seated.

And here we need a special mention of Anthony, Stefanie's brother who did an outstanding job as MC. Despite problems with the sound system he managed to make himself heard and keep the evening running on schedule.

This is really exciting since this was not some random competition. Only photographers who were also nominated were able to vote for each other. One vote each and no voting for one self.

Being voted by our colleagues is very humbling and gratifying.

Following the ceremony at Mary MacKillop Chappel we headed down to Balmoral for some drinks and photos.

We kept it nice and relaxed and got some great photos along the way. After the photos we headed straight to reception at Public Dining Room which is right on Balmoral Beach with some great views overlooking the beach.

Wyn loved the fact that we weren't afraid to shoot in unusual locations as she wanted something different for her wedding photos.

Now finding a location with a grungy/industrial feel in Brisbane is not that easy when we are based in Sydney. Fortunately our good friend Steve from ST Photography scouted some locations for us. In the end we found exactly what we were looking for. Steve also came along on the day to help us out with the shooting.

Wyn and Aki and their bridal party were fantastic. Even a bit of rain in the morning couldn't dampen their spirits and they never even raised an eyebrow when we asked to climb around a location that had asbestos warnings all over it or when we had to do a bit of trespassing to reach a cool location. Or even when we made them climb into the middle of a field that was covered in who knows what.

When we arrived at the boys place it was raining, but nobody seemed to mind.

This was one of those weddings where everyone just seemed to have fun and enjoy themselves. This made our job easier and we got some great photos.

The locations and venues they picked suited them perfectly from Liam's old school chapel to the modern and funky reception venue at Sergeants Mess.

This Saturday we are holding our first Techy 1 workshop at our studio. If you want to participate contact us ASAP. We will announce new workshop dates soon but workshops will be limited as we have to work around our wedding schedule for the rest of the year.

Saturday's course will cover all the basics of photography, sounds simple enough, but if you haven't mastered the basics 100% you'll struggle with the more advance and fun stuff.

Since that's precisely what we do we knew we were going to enjoy shooting this wedding. The day was very relaxed. Jane and Bernard planned everything so there would be a minimum of travel and stress. At the same time they picked a gorgeous location and reception venue.

Both Jane and Bernard got ready at the Quay Grand Hotel at circular Quay. From there it was only a short walk to the Botanic Gardens for their ceremony.

After the ceremony the everyone just hung out on the lawn while the catering people kept the drinks topped up. We took a quick tour round the Opera House and finally walked to the Botanic Garden Restaurant while taking photos.

The reception took place at the Botanic Garden Restaurant which always has a intimate atmosphere, especially as it gets dark and there is no one else left in the Botanic Garden.

So anyway the guys were full of enthusiasm even organizing their own models etc.

The guys from Nikon Australia helped me out by providing a range of cameras and lenses so that everyone could have a play with them, including the monster AF-S NIKKOR 500mm f4G ED VR.

Judging by the images below everyone had a great time.
